Background

I have been mountain biking for the last 9 years purely for recreation. In 2006 I returned home after living in Christchurch, NZ for 7 years. Here I maintained a lifestyle which revolved around a love of mountain biking and more recently road cycling. Coming from a recreational background my bike handling skills have well been polished over the years, yet my racing experience had been literally none, it was not until I returned to Australia that I started racing.

Currently

Upon my return from NZ I trailed for the AIS ?Dirt Roads to London? Squad (National Talent Identification Program), I was successful and have since been supported by the program and working hard towards achieving my goals.

The support of the program, my coach and the competitive environment of the squad, have all fast tracked my performance as an elite athlete. In 2007 I was selected along with Zoe King to travel over to Europe and Canada to race the UCI World Cup Circuit. This was an amazing experience and has given me valuable perspective and experience in racing at the international level. I am now preparing for another trip to race the world cups in Canada and hopefully gain selection for the World Championships which will be held in Canberra in September this year.
