Hello, my name is Jenni King. I’ve been involved with mountain bike racing for the past 10 years. I started out in the sport after watching the MTB coverage of the 2000 Olympics on TV. Thinking that it looked like some fun, I went out and bought myself a mountain bike. Little did I know just how addictive MTBiking is - 10 years later I still think there is nothing better than hitting the trails and pushing my body to the limit!
I made gradual improvements in my racing and currently ride at an elite level within Australia and internationally. The last domestic season saw my best results yet, with a 3rd place at National Championships and several podium finishes at the National Rounds.
I have been self-coached for the past 5 years and I am now an accredited Cycling Australia road and MTB coach. I love to pass on the knowledge I have gained through personal experience and through my knowledge of ever-developing sports science. There is no better feeling than seeing the athletes I coach achieve their goals,
I currently race as part of the TORQ team and am very lucky to receive a huge amount of support from TORQ Australia, who provide some of the best sports nutrition on the market. Since joining the team I have come to understand the critical importance of sports nutrition and I place significant emphasis on the optimal use of energy and recovery products.
Recently, I become an associate coach with FTP training. Mark Fenner is widely recognised as one of the leading sports scientists in Australia and I am lucky to be continuing my learning under his guidance. I am now confident that the training and racing methodologies I use are based on the very latest scientific research.
