Why do you ride: I love winning and to win you have to train lots!?. I love riding because you get to be super fit, it takes you amazing places and it?s a way to hang out with some of my closest mates!
What/who started you riding: My father was a great athlete and I?m sure if he took up cycling earlier I would be following in the footsteps of a Tour de France cyclist. Dad loves cycling as much as I do so its his support that got me into it and has kept me at it!
Worst moment in career & why: Bombing out at Junior World Championships when I was expecting to medal and subsequently taking a year and a half off due to illness.
What did you want to be when you were a kid: A firefighting astronaut who in their spare time was a professional xc skier and cyclist with a bit of an acting career thrown in there too!
In one word how would your best friend describe you? Crazy!!!
Favorite food: Mexican
Favorite Music: DANCE
Best idea of having good time: Daft Punk Live.
Favorite place to travel to: South Island, New Zealand.
Most respected mountain bike riders: Thomas Frischknecht
Other most respected athletes: Lance Armstrong, Bjorn Dahlie and Ali.
Favorite riding spots and courses: Bright, Rotorua and Colorado.
Advice to beginners: Don?t wear underwear under your knicks?. DON?T DO IT!!!!
Other sports you do: XC Skiing, Biathlon, Soccer, Tennis, Swimming. Would do nearly every sport if I could but I only have time and energy for cycling.
Do you have a coach: Yes, Chris Clarke. Spent along time without a coach and now I finally have one its fantastic. After one month with Chris my form and motivation went through the roof! Thanks Chris!
Typical training week: 20-25 hrs average. Varies through out the year, depends on what stage I?m at.
Career Highlights: U23 National Series Champion, 4th U23 (23rd overall) Round 8 UCI MTB World Cup.
2006 National Champ (U19) and 17th 2005 World Champs (U19)
Year 2008 Highlights: U23 National Series Champion, 2nd U23 National Championships, 4th U23 (23rd overall) Round 8 UCI MTB World Cup.
Objectives for 2009: U23 Oceania Champion, Top 3 U23 World Championships in Canberra and gain a Professional Contract.
