Training for the Otway Oddyssey

For those who didn't hear, our "TRAINING DAY" on the course on Saturday was eventful! I fixed a chain in under 10 minutes (quite a feat!), Dean broke a chain, Dean punctured and his tyre sealed while we were pushing our bikes up one of the many steep climbs, I blew up and grovelled behind the boys (yes, I stopped talking for a while!), I came good and Tim died from the heat and had to grovel to Forrest as we rode back up the singletrack searching for Dean's lost tool kit and lost car key (!), Dan and Luke found Deans single black car key under a leaf, We rode towards forrest and had a wonderful water fight under a gushing water tap, I drank a bottle of the water and we played and... then I smelt the water, aghghghgh! Sewerage. So I had drunk poo water. And we all collapsed at forrest and drank coke and bought water.

Then after some cruisey singletrack, we rode back to Apollo Bay, with me dangling off the back of the group and praying for downhill. Then Dean cramped in the most spectacular fashion, and I rode off the rode in to a blackberry bush...

And then we all arrived back in Apollo Bay, bright eyed and bushy tailed. We swam in the ocean, ate pizza and fish and chips, then drove home.

.....And Dean was hospitalised last night for eating reheated seafood pizza.

The end!
